Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace

Secure the SaaS layer your cloud tools ignore. Most monitoring stops at the cloud — but your identity, email, and files live in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. Vigil watches those too.

What it is

Agentless security and governance monitoring for your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant, connected through admin consent.

What you get

  • Security monitoring — surface risky configurations and security signals across the suite
  • Governance signal — visibility into how your workspace is administered
  • Seat / license utilization — find unused or underused licenses you’re paying for

How to enable

An add-on connector. Connect via admin consent — nothing is deployed into your environment. It also serves as the identity anchor required by Access Governance.

How to read it

  • Security signals — reviewed like other findings, by severity.
  • Seat utilization — which licenses are active vs. idle, so you can right-size your subscription.

FAQ

Is anything installed in my tenant? No. This is agentless — you grant read access via admin consent and Vigil reads through the provider’s API.

What permissions does it need? Read-scoped access to security, directory, and license/usage data. See Trust & security.

Is compliance included for M365/Google Workspace? SaaS compliance mapping is coming soon. Security, governance, and seat utilization are available today.
